Over the past twenty years, my work with the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) has taken me in various directions - as a case manager, a therapist at an urgent, outpatient psychiatric clinic, acting coordinator, and as part of the Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team (IMCRT). Between 2013 - 2019 I conducted assessments and treatment plans in conjunction with the local fire departments for individuals who engage in cluttering and hoarding behaviours. I also take pride in maintaining a small private/consultant practice where I often work with couples. I worked as an instructor in GCAP from 2013-2019 and accepted the role of assistant professor in 2020. At present, my research focuses on the stigma attached to the lived experiences of hoarding disorder.
