In keeping with Athabasca University’s philosophy to remove geographical barriers to education, the Centre for Nursing and Health Studies offers you choice, challenge, and a career path in three graduate degrees using primarily online delivery.
The graduate programs of the CNHS will take you to the next level in your career. The Master of Health Studies and Master of Nursing: Generalist programs prepare health professionals with knowledge and skills to lead health care organizations into the future. The Master of Nursing: Nurse Practitioner and Post Masters Diploma: Nurse Practitioner programs prepare nurses to provide health services as community-based nurse practitioners.
Join us as you further develop your personal initiative, confidence, judgment, knowledge, and decision-making skills through academic and technical achievements in one of our graduate degrees.
Our graduate program courses are delivered online using asynchronous conferencing; communication that does not occur simultaneously. Each course is delivered using a paced grouped-study method with specific start and end dates. Throughout your studies, you will interact with your tutor or learning facilitator and other students; access the AU library, digital reading rooms and other research resources; and participate in forums for online discussions.
The breadth and depth of knowledge and technical skills acquired in a graduate health-related academic discipline will more than prepare you for a professional career and further study and research. A graduate credential will open doors to waiting opportunities in the future direction of health care.
